Atlas Copco's new fuel injected petrol breaker

Atlas Copco’s presence at Conexpo is the company’s first major show since it acquired German drum cutter manufacturer Erkat – but according to its construction tools division nothing has changed.

Torsten Ahr, vice president marketing, hydraulic attachments, said: “We are leaving Erkat as they are and they have a separate stand at this exhibition. We are one group but different brands.

“Erkat totally stands for customised machines. We have bought a market leader and we are not going to destroy the market.”

Outside the Erkat brand, Atlas Copco is busy showing products in its own right. These range from the launch of its first fuel injected petrol breaker to the large scale HB10000 breaker which has now been on the market for 10 years.

Other product launches by the company at the show include generators, pumps, portable compressors and light towers from its portable energy division.
