Management changes at Dubai-based Byrne Equipment Rental will see former COO Pat Fallon return as Deputy CEO working alongside new CEO Rorce Au Yeung.
The incoming CEO is a Director of Byrne and was most recently CEO of VPower Group, a Hong Kong based power generation company. He replaces Hamad S. Al Sulaiman, the former CEO, who will retain his position as group Chairman.
Byrne said the changes would help it “emerge from the Covid-19 period and redefine a clear path forward. A large part of that is focused on navigating through the visible changes and challenges we face in our market”.
Au Yeung, a lawyer and accountant who has worked at Intel, Exxon and Veolia, said ; “I am tremendously excited about the opportunity we have at the Byrne Group to build a truly world class organisation committed to excellence in everything we do.”
Fallon, who stepped down as COO in July 2020 after 26 years with the company, said he was delighted to be back; “As Deputy CEO I’m looking forward to supporting and assisting Rorce and more widely working closely with the group’s management and their teams across the region.”
Al Sulaiman said, Byrne’s Chairman, “It has been my pleasure and privilege to work alongside the Byrne Group employees and I would like to take this opportunity to thank them all for the support, hard work and loyalty they have shown to this great company.
“The success of the business is a testament to all their hard work and dedication. Being a substantial investor and chairman of the Group, I know our business has a bright future, a future that brings with it wonderful opportunities for both the company and its people.”
Quentin Lo has been appointed Chief Strategy Officer and will also play a key role assisting with the company’s repositioning.
