Cargotec congratulates SAWO on 50th anniversary

SAWO, Cargotec's Danish distributor for Hiab on-road solutions, celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.

Flemming Christensen, a former service engineer at Hiab Copenhagen, founded the first SAWO workshop in 1962. In the early 1980s, he took over all Hiab Denmark workshops and the sales team, and integrated them into SAWO. Today, SAWO employs 200 people in 12 workshops across Denmark.

The Hiab range offers on-road load handling solutions and services. The products are used by the construction industry, forestry, industry, waste handling, recycling and by defence forces.

Talking about SAWO’s success over 50 years, Greger Jacobson, senior vice president, markets load handling at Cargotec, said: "They import and sell our whole Hiab product portfolio in Denmark and have managed to raise our market share steadily.”
