The Keder Roof XL from Layher ensures more efficiency on construction sites

Layher’s new Keder Roof XL has been put to work by scaffolding company IBEK Gerüstbau at roadworks on the Mühlwiesen Bridge at Bietigheim-Bissingen in Germany.

The heatable site protection structure is designed for use in wintry temperatures. Its aluminium components with integrated keder sections make it quick to assemble, while its high flexibility means it can adapt to curves in the road.

The city of Bietigheim-Bissingen has been upgrading the Mühlwiesen bridge part of the four-lane B27, which was creating bottlenecks. The heavily used bridge was in a poor state of repair and required sandblasting. However, the persistently cold and wet weather made it impossible to do sealing work on the bridge.

The solution was to create a site protection structure. IBEK assembled the temporary enclosures using Layher’s new Keder Roof XL, split into two building sections each with a length of 100 m.

The Keder Roof XL system can traverse widths of up to 40 m while the roof can withstand snow loads of up to 100 kg/m2.
