Skanska has signed a contract with the Czech Republic’s Road & Motorway Directorate for construction of a new part of the D1 motorway between Lipník nad Bečvou and Přerov.

The company said the contract was worth CZK2.7 billion (€99.18 million), which will be included in order bookings for Skanska Czech Republic for the second quarter of 2015.

The project includes construction of 14km of the D1 motorway, with 24 bridges, three interchanges, and more than 7km of sound barriers and retaining walls.

Construction work is expected to start soon and is due to be completed in 2019.

Skanska Czech Republic, which claims to be one of the country largest construction companies, had sales in 2014 of SEK4.8 billion (€520.49 million).
