Dynapac has introduced the LG520 radio remote controlled reversible plate compactor designed for compaction of backfill in pipe and cable trenches, as well as road repair and maintenance work.

According to Dynapac the new unit offers a high degree of compaction in confined areas of soil and stone materials, as well as building foundations and backfill against supporting walls.

A compaction layer thickness of 250 mm with sand or gravel or 350 mm sub base/base materials is recommeded with the LG520.

Introduced as an ergonomic remote controlled unit, it allows the machine operator to stay out of dusty and noisy trenches where exhaust emmissions can be accumulated, the company added. In addition the new model has a simple to use control panel.

According to the company the unit also combines the latest engine technology with low exhaust emmissions and low noise at high working speeds for a high compaction performance. A Hatz 1D505 diesel engine delivers 6,6 kW at 2200 rpm.

Operating at 60 hz, compaction features include a 1,7 mm amplitude with a 56 kN centrifugal force and a working speed of 21 m/minute.

The LG520 features a strong and foldable lifting eye and a cover that withstands severe shock and also offers protection of all the vital components of the machine.

The engine cover is foldable for easier access and service. The rear cover is also foldable and lockable giving access to, and protecting the electronic system.
