A second LTM 1450-8.1 is latest in a series of new Liebherrs for Emerson Crane Hire in the UK.

The new 450 tonner has a 7 metre fly jib and 24 tonnes of counterweight. It will share the luffing jib from a previously delivered unit. In addition to remote control the latest delivery has the Variobase and Varioballast functions.

A similar specification to the above will also feature on four other new models ordered from Liebherr, in capacities from 60 to 110 tonnes, to be delivered over the next few months. Emerson said it is operating all its new cranes on bio-degradable hydraulic oil.

Commenting on the latest delivery Liam Clancy, Emerson managing director, said, “Our longstanding commitment to Liebherr made the decision easy for us for our 2023 investments. We are particularly excited about our second LTM 1450-8.1 to join our expanding fleet and know our customers in the heavy crane market are too.”

The new 450 made its debut on Emerson’s stand at the Vertikal Days show last week, alongside a new 60 tonne capacity LTM 1060-3.1.
