Engine manufacturers merge

Kohler Co.'s Global Power Group, an engines and generator manufacturer signed an agreement to acquire Lombardini Engines Companies from Mark IV LuxembourgS.A.R.L., a subsidiary of Mark IV Industries Inc earlier this year.

In a Kohler statement, Dick Fotsch, Global Power Group president said, Kohler Co,'sacquisition of Lombardini will provide a strong complement to our existing engine businessby adding a complete diesel engine line to serve the needs of our commercial and consumercustomers worldwide.

“Chief executive of Lombardini Srl, Dr Gianni Borghi, said in the statement, “By beingacquired by Kohler, Lombardini will become part of a group committed to growing enginebusiness globally.

The acquisition will provideKohler with an expanded geographical presence in Europeanand North African markets, the statement said.
