The new 6000 series crane and the lightweight Dominator I body mounted on a 2019 Ford F550 4×4 chassis were on display at IMT’s booth at the March ConExpo 2020 trade show in Las Vegas, USA

According to IMT, the new 6000 series crane weighs 30 percent less than its previous iteration, enabling its payload to be increased. It now has a maximum lifting capacity of 6,000 pounds (2.72 tonnes) and a horizontal boom reach of 22 feet 1 inch (6.7 metres). The boom tip has also been redesigned to provide greater maneuverability and precision, said IMT. Corosion-resistant components are used to mitigate rust.

The 6000 series crane is designed to mount on an enhanced IMT Dominator I service truck. The new Dominator package comes with options to increase payload, including a compact work bench bumper and a redesigned lightweight customisable bolt bin. It is also available with the new CAS40PL air compressor. The new compressor has an aluminum canopy, which reduces its weight by more than 40 percent over the previous model, IMT said.

“These innovative product enhancements increase the payload capability of our Dominator I mechanics truck package by approximately 1,000 pounds, while providing our customers with more options to meet their field service needs,” said Justin Anderson, IMT marketing representative. “Reducing the weight and incorporating features that extend the life of the crane ensures our customers benefit from increased payload for years to come.”
