Finnish Defence Forces order Hiabs

Hiab will supply 39 XS 166 HiDuo loader cranes to the Finnish Defence Forces through supplier Sisu Defence.

The order also includes 20 Multilift MIH-165-SC integrated hooklifts, equipped with container handling units and 40 Multilift MIH-165 hooklifts. They will be installed on 8x8 off-road military trucks designed for demanding international crisis operations, said Hiab, which is part of Cargotec. Delivery will start at the end of the third quarter 2009.

The Hiab XS 166 HiDuo belongs to the company's mid-capacity range and is well suited to military applications, it says. Lifting capacity is 5.8 tonnes at 2.6 m and 860 kg at 15 m. Outreach is 15.1 m with hydraulic extensions and 17.4 m with manual extensions.
