Free webinar: technology for contractors of all sizes
10 March 2021
A free-to-view webinar from Trimble and International Construction will examine how small and medium sized contractors can use technology to help them boost productivity and win contracts.
Wayne Barr, from UK-based contractor GDL will reveal how the company use technology to manage worksites remotely, update plans daily and send the latest information directly to the machines on the site, save thousands of pounds in efficiency and use the data to help manage and motive their workforce.
GDL is a specialist geotechnical earthworks contractor based in Scotland. Barr has been in the construction industry for over 20 years and has extensive knowledge in civil and geotechnical project delivery. He says that using technology has enabled the compay to ‘punch above its weight’ and compete with much larger contractors for projects.
Barr will be joined in the webinar by Seth Meisel, an Excavator Product Manager for the Civil Construction Division with Trimble.
Meisel has been in the construction industry for more than eight years and has a background in heavy civil infrastructure.
The webinar will use existing GDL projects to provide practical examples of how technology has been used successfully. It will also examine how the company has ensured that all staff ‘buy into’ and engage with technology, how it has helped them reduce their environmental footprint and complete jobs quicker with less waste.
The webinar will be held on Zoom on 31 March at 3.00pm UK-time. Click here to register for free.
Both Wayne Barr and Seth Meisel will be taking questions from the audience during the webinar through the Q and A function in Zoom. The webinar will be moderated by Andy Brown, editor of International Construction.
