Specialized transport company Van der Vlist has begun the transport of shipbuilding parts across Europe.

The cargo is being transported from Romania to Rotterdam. In total 16 pieces will be moved. Each will weigh 15 tonnes and be 4.2 metres tall and 5.02 m in diameter. The cargo will be moved over a timescale of a month on low loaders. Each piece will be loaded and unloaded using an overhead crane, a spokesperson said.

The cargo requires multiple permits to travel the 3,000 km and will be accompanied by police escort.
