UK rental company GAP group has continued its specialist expansion with the launch of a new Vehicle Hire division, on back of its acquisition of Scotland-based Central Vehicle Hire.

The new division is the fourth to be launched by GAP this year, following the introduction of its Survey & Safety hire division; Event Services division; and Welfare Services division.

The company said GAP Vehicle hire would offer a broad range of the UK’s newest commercial vehicles and cars, all of which it said could be built to the customers’ specification. It would offer bespoke hire packages from just a few vehicles to an entire business fleet.

As part of the Central Vehicle Hire acquisition, the company said it also inherited a fleet of over 1000 vehicles. It said it had “ambitious plans” for the new company to become a major player in the industry.

GAP’s new Vehicle Hire operations director Jim Forrester said, “I am excited about establishing GAP Vehicle Hire as the UK’s market leader.

“We have a truly unique offering as well as the newest fleet of vehicles in the UK and I believe our flexibility, customer service levels and the exceptional reputation of GAP Group set us apart from the competition. We are in an extremely strong position to offer our customers an unrivalled level of service.”
