GAP Vehicle Hire depot opens for business

13 July 2015

GAP Vehicle Hire has opened its first depot for customers looking for long-term hire of commercial fleets.

The depot, in Glasgow, Scotland, houses a workshop that will offer customers a range of customisable options including the supply and fitting of wooden ply lining, shelving, tow bars, beacons, vehicle livery and more. It also hosts a valeting service.

“We are absolutely delighted to have opened our first hire operations depot,” said operations director Jim Forrester.

“We chose the location as it’s close to the city centre and major motorways, meaning we can react fast to our customers’ demands. Glasgow is the first of our hire operations depots and we’ve already made plans for our next locations around the UK.”

Launched this year to offer long-term, flexible and bespoke rental packages, Vehicle Hire is one of eight divisions within the overall GAP Group.

The others are Plant & Tool, Lifting Hire & Sales, Non-Mechanical Plant, Survey & Safety Hire, Welfare Services, Event Services and the company’s newest division, London Tools & Access.

Mr Forrester added: “We are proud to be part of the GAP family and have already started supplying vehicles to long-standing customers, as well as creating new relationships for the future.

“We have support from over 120 locations throughout the UK and we are working together with all divisions of GAP to provide a complete hire solution to customers.”
