Genie announces new distributor for Turkey

Genie has appointed a new distributor for Turkey Global Lift Makina, which has become the first MEWP-specific distributor in the country

Global Lift Makina was established in 2018 and is based in Gebze, in the Kocaeli region. From this year it is offering authorized service and sales across Genie’s line of products to rental companies and end users, and will soon set up an IPAF operator training centre.

The company said this was an important step in the country’s MEWP sector. “This strategic cooperation will enable faster and more effective service delivery to businesses in Turkey and Global Lift Makina plans to provide high quality services to customers with Genie’s training and service support.

“We will have the opportunity to offer Genie’s wide product portfolio. It will be a great advantage for these two powerful brands to work together to provide reliable and effective solutions for projects in our country.”

The distribution announcement came as Genie celebrates the 40th anniversary of the lunch of its first articulated boom lift.

The landmark is being celebrated by Turkey’s aerial platform association Platformder, which said, “Launched in 1984, the Genie articulated MEWP has been successfully carrying out its mission for 40 years. Taking part in countless projects all around Turkey, serving many different sectors with its reliability and durability for many years.

“From the construction of modern buildings in Istanbul to many different projects in various regions of Anatolia, Genie has fulfilled its duties in a wide range of projects.

On the subject of that first model, the Z45/22, Platformder added. “The confidence it inspires will be remembered for many years to come. This platform will be remembered not just as a machine, but as a symbol of an era and the labor of many workers.”
