UK rental company Hewden has appointed Michaela Simpson in the newly created role of head of customer experience.

Ms Simpson joins Hewden from Yodel, one of the UK's largest parcel delivery companies, where she held the similar role of customer experience manager.

The Manchester-based company said the appointment reflected the attention it is giving to customer service. Ms Simpson's first task is to analyse the various ways customers engage with Hewden and ensure its communication channels are suited to their needs.

"It's refreshing to have joined a business where top management and marketing divisions are championing customer satisfaction programmes. A number of changes have already been brought about as the direct result of listening to customer needs," said Ms Simpson.
