High speed hoist has low profile

25 April 2008

A high speed hoist system developed by Universal Building Supply Ltd for the Swiss Re and Canary Wharf Tower buildings in London, has now been supplied for construction of the 29-storey Ontario Tower at New Providence Wharf, said to be the tallest residential building in Ontario, Canada. The system, whICh will lift 2,800 kg to 88 m in less than one minute, comprises a common aluminium tower containing separate hoists for people and materials. It is tied to the building every three floors and the reduced number of ties allow cladding to be installed over the majority of the exterior and it speeds up erection and dismantling.
