Hillhead show pushed back to 2022
08 March 2021
This year’s Hillhead quarrying and construction exhibition in the UK has been postponed until next June year, in order to comply with Coronavirus lockdown measures.
The live three-day event, which attracts around 500 exhibitors and 20,000 visitors each year, was due to be held at the Hillhead Quarry in Derbyshire from the 22 to 24 June 2021. It will now take place at the same location between 21 and 23 June 2022.
The new dates mean that the show will take place the week after the Plantworx exhibition on 14-16 June, 2022.
Richard Bradbury, event director at organiser QMJ Group, said, “Under [the government ] guidelines, it is clear that the show will not be able to operate legally in June this year.
“Our priority is to provide the Hillhead experience that our exhibitors and visitors have come to expect but, with the continuing uncertainty around travel restrictions and social distancing measures, this is not achievable in 2021.”
While its sister event Hillhead Digital will run online as scheduled at the end of this month, Bradbury said, “By delaying the show until June 2022, the full benefits of a completed vaccination programme will have filtered through, allowing us to deliver a safe and vibrant event.
“The team look forward to welcoming you back to Hillhead Quarry, Buxton, from 21–23 June 2022.”
