HKL’s excavator expertise shows the way

30 September 2015

A mini excavator from HKL’s Rental Park in Germany has been used in Stuttgart’s Rosensteintunnel, covering a distance of 1300 m under the city’s Rosensteinpark, zoo and biological garden. The customer was ARGE Marti Tunnel Rosenstein.

For special work on the tunnel , a machine was needed that offered full performance even in tight spaces.

The HKL team, led by Karlheinz Groll, quickly found a mini excavator with a compact design with a small footprint.

The machine was able to work where large tunnel excavators are too bulky - for example in the construction of cross-passages that connect the two tunnels, where it still performed efficiently despite the cramped nature of the surroundings.

ARGE project leader Jürgen Domenig said: “With 24-hour service and first-class quality, HKL has really done a great job and quickly and easily delivered an excavator, which in size and performance exactly matched our requirements.”

Karlheinz Groll added: “Large projects consist of many small parts. Thanks to our years of experience we can give the customer the best advice, and we will always find the right machine for every task. That is our core competence.”
