House to house

24 April 2008

Hydro-Rod drainage services has used a u mole hammerhead pb30, cable-based pipe bursting system to install new sewer pipes at the Ivy House estate in Hendale, UK.

Ivy House has a network of 100 mm internal diameter pitch fibre sewer pipes, at a depth of between 800 and 1000 mm. Using the PB30 rig, Hydro-Rod replaced about 70 m of pipe with threaded MDPE (medium density polyethylene) pipes.

Because the PB30 rig would not fit through the site's 600 mm square manholes, Hydro-Rod's engineers designed a surface rig to hold it in place during operation.
