This new S400XT mini skid-steer from Vermeer Manufacturing Co was introduced at the ICUEE show and is aimed primarily at rental buyers and landscape contractors. The S400TX is a smaller version of the S600TX and is powered by a 23 hp (17 kW) Kohler air cooled engine. Tipping capacity is 1430 lb (649 kg), rated operating capacity is 500 lb (227 kg) and maximum lift height is 69 in (1,75 m). Vermeer says that “rental centers will appreciate the easy-to-operate controls, which are positioned for increased performance and ease of learning. The new control system includes two joysticks integrated within a hand-grip that control transport and boom/bucket motion.”
