Appointment marks its first presence in the region

JCB Power Systems has appointed a new distributor for its OEM engines in south east Asia – the company’s first presence in the region.

It has joined forces with oil and gas sector specialist, Precision Power Services Thailand (PPS), in a partnership which will see the new distributor offer sales and service support to original equipment manufacturers, along with an additional engineering capability.

Already an approved dealer for the JCB Power Products generator range, the addition of JCB engine offering is a natural progression for the PPS range. The establishment of a physical presence in Thailand is a strategic expansion for JCB given the strength of the oil, gas and agriculture sectors and the growing demand static and mobile powered equipment to serve them.

PPS will offer customers a full range of JCB products across the relevant emissions tiers. Engines span from a 4-cylinder 85HP (64 kW) model to a 6-cylinder 285HP (212 kW) variant. Furthermore, with its own engineering capability, PPS will develop and manufacture a tailored solution for the oil and gas sector in the form of a complete industrial power unit built on the JCB engine platform.

JCB Power Systems Engine Sales & Business Development manager, Nick Grez said: “With its unrivalled knowledge of the oil, gas and power generation market in South East Asia, PPS will be a great addition to the JCB family. The company has proven its expertise and capability as a successful distributor of JCB Power Products generators and we are excited at the opportunities the partnership will create for the global expansion of our OEM engine business.”

Precision Power Services Thailand owner, Donald Brown, said: “Becoming part of the JCB team is a true privilege for PPS and we are inspired by the spirit of innovation on which JCB is founded. JCB engines are reliable and cost effective, which is exactly what customers are looking for – backed of course by excellent aftermarket support. We feel those qualities position us well to compete with the established manufacturers in this region.

“We bring excellent traction in the oil and gas sector and see those markets as the prime opportunities initially, while we also seek to cultivate relationships in the agricultural sector in which JCB enjoys enormous success.”
