US modifier Jewell Attachments has supplied a 32 m (105 ft) high reach based on a Komatsu PC650 to Australian contractor Alex Fraser Group, with the machine finding use on the demolition of an obsolete boiler house and chimney at a site in Bendigo, Victoria, which is being cleared to make way for an A$650 million (Euro502 million) hospital development in this major regional centre. The machine features a tilting cab and a hydraulically extending undercarriage.

Alex Fraser Group was established in 1879 as a scrap metal processor and has since diversified into one of the country’s largest demolition, recycling and industrial services companies. Sam McKellar, general manager of the company’s Demolition Division, said of the new machine. “We brought this machine into our fleet to expand our ability to safely and efficiently enhance our capabilities. It was a major investment in the future of Alex Fraser Group, and it has certainly paid off. The versatility, power and control on this machine is fantastic.”
