KDC takes the high road to Scotland
05 July 2012
UK decommissioning, demolition and remediation specialist KDC has announced plans to expand its business activities in Scotland through the opening of a new Scottish headquarters in Grangemouth, near the Scottish capital of Edinburgh.
The company has tripled its office space at this location and recruited four experts in land remediation and project management roles to handle new contracts the company has won in the region. These include a £1 million (US$1.6 million) oil storage and pipeline demolition contract awarded by Scottish and Southern Energy, a major land remediation project at Stewarton awarded by East Ayrshire Council and others with Scottish Power, EDF, and Maryhill Locks Transformational regeneration Area in Glasgow.
Christopher Sandground, operations director of K-Land Solutions, the specialist remediation arm of KDC that will be based in the new Scottish HQ, said of the move: Our offices are strategically placed across the UK and this move demonstrates our growing presence in the area as a leading provider of decommissioning, demolition and remediation services. It signals our commitment to serving our Scottish based customers. We have built some long term relationships here in Scotland and believe expanding our base here will cement these further and bring new opportunities our way."
