Kiloutou makes Spanish acquisition

Kiloutou has acquired Alvecon, a scaffolding and equipment rental specialist in the Navarre and the Basque regions of Spain, with three locations and 40 employees. The price was not declared.

It has been sold by Groupe Tecnosumit, a Sumitomo Corp company in Europe that owns the Komatsu construction machinery sales business in Spain.

Alvecon was founded in 1980 and has a fleet of more than 1000 machines, including telehandlers, aerial platforms, earthmoving equipment, scaffolding and construction hoists.

The news comes less than a week after Loxam confirmed that it was in talks to acquire Hune, Spain's second largest rental company.

Xavier du Boÿs, CEO of Kiloutou, said; “This acquisition allows Kiloutou to pursue its international expansion and expand its network in Spain to two very dynamic regions in the north of the country.

“In addition to the three new branches we opened this year in Barcelona and Madrid, it illustrates our desire to become one of the leaders in the Spanish market by combining high-quality regional players with a strong local presence ".

Kiloutou said it would draw on the know-how of the Alvecon employees and give it a large degree of autonomy.

Kiloutou reported revenues of €462 million in 2015 and employs 4000 people in France, Poland, Spain and Germany.
