The premises will be located 28 km (17 miles) south-east of the company’s Colmar headquarters – a centre of demolition excavator manufacturing for the equipment supplier – and will make welded components for Liebherr’s construction equipment portfolio as well as performing assembly and pre-assembly work for driver cabs.

It will occupy a 47 ha (116 acre) site on the EcoRhena industrial park and create 300 jobs.

The company said it has been planning for several years to relocate some of its activities to the area around Colmar, where it has been based for more than 60 years, “to further strengthen competitiveness and independence in the long term”.
