Manitou ceases activities in Italy and India

Manitou Group has followed government COVID-19 containment policies in Italy and India, by temporarily ceasing its production activities in those two countries. The shutdowns follow those in France, announced 17 March.

Concerning distribution, the company said in a statement, ”business is also very slow in most geographical areas due to the globalisation of containment policies and market uncertainty.”

Where authorised and when conditions allow, Manitou said it will continue the distribution of spare parts.

The scale and uncertainties of COVID-19 has also lead Manitou Group to suspend any financial guidance for 2020. The company added that it remained committed to dealing with the consequences of the COVID-19 crisis with regard to its employees, customers, operations and all its stakeholders.
