Carolina Equipment, a Yanmar Construction Equipment dealer, began under the Rent-It name in the mid 1990s, targeting the DIY and homeowner market. It rebranded in 2004 to focus on small-to-medium sized contractors, site development companies, and municipalities.

NED Chief Operations Officer Jesse Beasley said in a press release that the acquisition “will further improve our ability to support our western North Carolina customer base.”

NED will relocate Carolina Equipment’s operations from its current Fairview site to a new four acre location in Fletcher, North Carolina. Carolina’s founder Peter Jensen and his team will continue as NED employees at the new location, with additional NED resources and equipment brands to support customers in the Asheville, North Carolina region.

The new branch will continue to represent Yanmar, as well as Carolina Equipment’s other brands, such as ASV and forestry specialist Fecon. It will also offer NED’s brands, including Hyundai, Bell Trucks, Dynapac, Sakai soil rollers, Manitou, Tana, XCMG, Prinoth and Barko.

NED operates across five states - Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Texas - and has 15 servicing sites. The company’s rental fleet totals over 1,000 machines; its website describes it as the largest Hyundai Construction Equipment dealer and Bell Trucks dealer in North America.
