Riwal has appointed Nick Field as country manager of its German operation. It has also expanded two of its depots in the country.

Mr Field will be responsible for developing and leading the company’s strategy in Germany, in line with its regional and group strategy. He has extensive experience in operations management through leadership positions in car rental fleet services, modular building and aircraft leasing, said the company.

Mr Field replaces Wolfgang Roth, who served as a consultant and country manager on an interim basis.

Thanks to an increase in customers and the related growth of the rental fleet, Riwal has relocated its Rhine-Main depot to larger premises in Bingen. It has also been necessary to accelerate expansion plans at its Ingersheim, Stuttgart depot, with increased workshop capacity and yard storage after starting activities in early 2013. For both depots Riwal said it expected a further increase in the rental fleet during 2014.

Riwal’s regional director Wayne Lawson, said, “I am delighted about these positive developments in Germany. The experience Nick Field is bringing into the Riwal team and the expansion of two of our depots is supporting our vision to deliver the best customer experience in the industry.

"These initiatives are integral to our depot network expansion plans to provide broad coverage to our customers. I also want to thank Wolfgang Roth for his contribution to our company during his interim assignment.”
