New short tail swing from Hyundai
26 March 2014
Hyundai is set to officially launch its new 6 tonne class short tail swing R60CR-9A at the forthcoming Hillhead show in the UK. According to the company, the new machine, which replaces the previous R60CR-9, has been designed to maximise performance, versatility, operator comfort, durability, ease of maintenance and serviceability. The result is a machine that offers an ideal solution when working in confined spaces in urban environments, where manoeuverability is key, says Hyundai.
Power comes from a Yanmar Tier 4 Final/Stage IIIB diesel developing 48.3 kW (64.8 hp) that provides 10% greater power than the engine used in the R60CR-9A’s predecessor. In addition, the new machine offers a 14% reduction in fuel consumption. A larger and more efficient radiator and oil cooler provide 30% greater cooling capacity as a result of a higher air flow rate.
The R60CR-9A's boom swing function is designed for efficient work in congested residential and urban areas. The boom can be offset left or right within an operating range and increased swing torque provides enhanced operating capability when working on a slope.
The new midi excavator offers arm digging force to 26.5 kN and a bucket digging force of 40.9 kN in the short arm version and a maximum digging depth of 3.6 m (11.8 ft). The R60CR-9A cabin structure has been fitted with stronger but slimmer tubing for added safety and improved visibility, and low-stress, high strength steel is integrally welded to form a stronger, more durable upper and lower frame.
