The Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) have awarded Houston, Texas, based Cherry Demolition Inc with a platinum level Safety Training Evaluation Process (STEP) safety award, an accolade gained for the effectiveness of its overall safety programme.

According to Cherry safety director Jay Marak: "We are pleased to be recognised with one of the highest safety awards given by the ABC. We take safety very seriously at Cherry and are proud of our accomplishments, but we always strive for further improvement."

The ABC represents all specialities in the US construction industry and is largely composed of companies that are active in the industrial and commercial sectors. The organisation's main goal is to assist its membership to continuously advance safety and training efforts to achieve zero-incident worksites.
