Point-of-Rental announces partnerships

05 November 2015

Point-of-Rental Software has announced two new partnerships. The software company has integrated its Enterprise rental management system with Epicor Eagle and ECi RockSolid.

Epicor Software Corporation is a leader in business software solutions for manufacturing, distribution, retail and services organizations. The integration of these two platforms streamlines operations for businesses providing both retail and rental products. Stores using Epicor Eagle software now can use Point-of-Rental Enterprise to show real-time item availability, handle reservations and returns, track inventory, schedule maintenance and more.

“We are excited about the synergy created from the integration of our two product lines,” said Wayne Harris, Point-of-Rental Software CEO. “This integrated solution provides state of the art software for merchants whose businesses operate in both rental and retail. Because rental inventory requires a completely different type of software to run efficiently, the merging of these platforms will certainly boost the performance of those retail businesses also serving rental needs.”

Senior product manager for Epicor, Keith Lam, stated, “Our integration with Point-of-Rental Enterprise allows our Epicor Eagle software retail merchants to add to or expand their businesses by offering rental items and equipment, which helps merchants better serve their communities and bring in more business. Point-of-Rental Enterprise is a great complement to Epicor Eagle software for merchants that need a comprehensive rental solution for their expanding rental businesses.”

Point-of-Rental also completed its partnership with ECi Software Solutions, a leader in industry-specific information technology solutions. The company said the integration of Enterprise rental management software with its will also help streamline operations for customers who offer retail and rental inventory.

Rental transactions take place with payment and accounting processed within the RockSolid system while Point-of-Rental handles rental contracts, reservations, and returns, as well as:

  • Taking reservations with an integrated online store that updates inventory in real time;
  • Displaying current and future inventory availability;
  • Setting special pricing such as seasonal, holiday or weekend rates;
  • Scheduling rental inventory maintenance and tracking repair costs;
  • Defining kits, packages or suggested items;
  • Social sharing features;
  • Automatic e-mail notifications for important events;
  • Reporting and analysis;
  • Real-time updates of deliveries and pickups through Android and iOS apps;
  • E-mail and in-person electronic signature with tracking and verification.

“This integration is a win-win for stores whose primary business is retail but have rental inventory as well,” Harris said. “Management of rental inventory requires an entirely different breed of software to operate smoothly, and we are pleased to merge best-in-class software to fit those needs.”

Brunswick True Value & Just Ask Rental of Brunswick, OH, was the first store to be installed with the integrated software.

“Having an integrated website with my rental catalog automatically uploaded makes it so much easier from a management standpoint,” said Brunswick True Value co-owner Patrick Miller. “We only have to manage one set of inventory and it automatically appears online with our pricing and availability. That alone saves me countless hours of data input and comes off in a very professional manner.”
