Polish motorway scheme for Budimex
17 September 2014
A consortium led by Strabag and Budimex has been appointed to build a €170 million section of the A4 motorway from Rzeszów to Jarosław in south eastern Poland.
The 41km stretch of road includes three motorway interchanges and 78 bridge structures, with work beginning in October. It is scheduled for completion early in 2016.
Strabag’s venture in the Subcarpathian region is part of a motorway totalling 670km.
Thomas Birtel, chief executive of Strabag, said the project – which follows its deal last month working on a €138 million road building scheme on the S5 expressway in Poland, underlined a strong pattern of infrastructure development within the country.
