Prangl was placed in the spotlight this New Year when it was called upon to provide the access equipment for installing the lighting units for the Vienna New Year 2012 concert.

The concert is transmitted live by more than 70 TV stations and is viewed by 45 million people around the world, so the pressure was on for the lighting to be spot on.

Prangl supplied 22 articulated work platforms, working to heights of 16m to 20m, within the Upper Belvedere Palace. This was the first time the event had been held in this location, with traditional dances taking place in the exhibition rooms of the Belvedere in from of masterpieces from Gustav Klimt and Ego Schiele.

Ausrian-based Prangl had to ensure that the Vienne State Ballet was presented in the correct light, but timing for the project was tight. All 22 articulated work platforms had to be delivered on the day before the event and then removed on the day after. Another requirement was that all the platforms had to be identical.

Prangl's team placed the platforms according to directions from the event's Italian choreographer, Davide Bombana, while one member of the Prangl team remained on call throughout the event.
