PSS Hire invests in portable winches

15 February 2016

UK rental company PSS Hire – which is owned by A-Plant – has expanded its rental fleet with an investment in new mobile winch units.

The company said the new 1000kg Gardner Denver portable winches were designed for the installation and removal of cables, both underground and overhead. The winches can also be used for installing sub-duct into the main duct system, according to PSS Hire.

PSS Hire director Mark Hamilton said, “We have just introduced the Gardner Denver Winches into our fleet and there has been a surge of interest from our customers.

“We believe we are the only major hire company offering this type of equipment, so a number of units have gone out on immediate hire. This equipment meets a specific need for the telecommunications and electrical sectors and the optimum safety features were of particular interest to us.”
