Rafael de los Santos joins UTC Overseas

UTC Overseas, a Houston, TX-based global logistics firm, has announced that Rafael de los Santos Diaz is joining the team as North American heavy haul business development director.

He will focus primarily on the energy sector, working closely with Ivan Oceguera, UTC Mexico country manager and reporting to Marco Poisler, COO global energy and capital projects.

With a degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from McGill University, de los Santos Diaz has 25 years of experience in the field. Most recently, he spent 15 years with Tradelossa, where he started out on the international business development team and was promoted to commercial director and then to managing director. Before Tradelossa, he worked with GE in finance, marketing and production capacities.

Marco Poisler believes Rafael’s experience will strengthen UTC’s position in the Mexican market. “Rafael’s boots-on-the-ground knowledge of the projects market in Mexico is unparalleled,” he said. “With a proven track record of success in the U.S. and Mexico, he will work with targeted accounts with heavy haul and specialized trucking needs.”

Active in the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association, he currently sits on the Board of Directors. He has previously been elected twice to the Transportation Governing Committee, which determines the ongoing strategy and future of the organization.
