Revenue up for Persimmon

03 July 2014

UK homebuilder Persimmon said it had made a strong start to the year, with revenues in its first half up 33% to £1.2 billion (€1.5 billion) as at 30 June, 2014.

The group legally completed 6,408 new homes, compared to 5,022 in 2013, up 28%, while the average selling price increased by 4% to £186,000 (€234,000), from 2013’s £179,199 (€224,000).

Persimmon announced it had opened 90 new sites in the first half of the year leaving its outlet network slightly lower at 380 active sites, having sold out a number of existing sites more swiftly as a result of stronger sales rates. The company plans to open 100 new sites during the second half of the year.

Persimmon’s forward sales revenue as at 30 June, 2014, was £1.18 billion (€1.48 billion), up 28% on 2013’s £920 million (€1.15 billion).

The firm will announce its half-year results on 19 August 2014.
