Dutch-based rental firm Riwal has chosen Trackunit’s telematics system to manage part of its fleet of aerial work platforms.

The Danish telematics company will supply GSM/GPS units for installation in different types of aerial work platforms at Riwal depots across Europe and the Middle East. The order will be delivered throughout 2012 and 2013.

In addition to providing unit location details, the Trackunit will also provide Riwal with reports on the use of its machines, as well as managing service and maintenance schedules.

The Trackunit order also includes a user ID access control that grants operators access to machines by an iButton key, a RFID card or key pad. This feature allows Riwal to ensure that only trained users can operate the machines and thereby improve safety for the customers and employees.
