Rory O’Shea to host World Demolition Awards 2023

Demolition & Recycling International (D&RI) is delighted to announce Rory O’Shea as host of this year’s World Demolition Awards ceremony.

Rory, who has been part of the Canadian media, acting and production landscape for over 40 years, will take to the stage in his home country for the awards evening, which forms part of the annual World Demolition Summit (WDS).

Rory’s career began when he was 15 years old, when he starred in a Heinz ketchup commercial alongside comedy legend, John Candy.

He has also acted in multiple movie and television roles including Suits, Designated Survivor, and Murdoch Mysteries.

In 2000, Rory created his own voiceover studio focusing primarily on narration and live event services to clients worldwide.

From using a British accent for MINI USA as its national branding voice; to show announcer for Family Feud Canada, Rory has recorded everything from cartoon characters to documentaries.

He has also had a 20-year stretch of on-air pursuits in radio and TV including Q107 in Toronto and anchor/presenter for Canada’s national Weather Network.

Rory says he is proud to be associated with the World Demolition Summit 2023.

The World Demolition Awards recognise innovation and excellence in demolition contractors and equipment manufacturers. Entries for this year’s awards close on 30 June with the shortlists announced in August.

The World Demolition Summit summit also includes a drinks reception, full-day conference and networking opportunities.

The event takes place in Toronto on 17 and 18 October and is organised by D&Ri in cooperation with the US National Demolition Association and the European Demolition Association. Headline sponsor is Volvo Construction Equipment.
