Swedish manufacturer Scanmaskin has launched the first European-produced propane driven floor grinder at this week's World of Concrete exhibition in Las Vegas, US.

The Scan Combiflex 800 Propane is designed to provide high productivity in large areas without the need for external electrical power, with a grinding width of 800 mm.

The new propane unit complements Scanmaskin's existing electric 800 mm model, the Scan Combiflex 800. These models are near the top of Scanmaskin's grinder range - the largest is a 1000 mm width unit.

The Scan Combiflex (SC) 800 Propane can be used for indoor or external applications. The company said it can both grind and polish floors at speeds up to 550-960 rpm, while minimising side torque and stress on the operator.

The propane powered engine develops 18.5 kW of power, with a 9 kg propane tank. Overall weight of the unit is 440 kg.

Scanmaskin has been producing floor grinders for more than a decade. The company has in recent years expanded its international distributiomn and reports a particularly good performance in North America in 2013. It is now trying to expand its sales network in latin America.
