Solmec waste handling solution for Fowles

20 June 2011

Feltham, Middlesex, based Fowles Crushed Concrete has taken delivery of a Solmec 24 tonne 210ESC mobile waste handler that is being used to load wood and general waste into two large shredders. Currently it is handling around 2,000 tonnes of material per week.

It is powered by a Deutz six cylinder diesel delivering 135 kW (183 hp) and features load sensing hydraulics, a hydraulic high-rise cab, front dozer blade and rear outriggers. It has been specified with a 6 m (19.7 ft) straight boom and 3.8 m (12.5 ft) selector arm, to which a Trevi Benne MG15 rotating grab is mounted.

Fowles has been involved in concrete recycling operation for some 30 years and last year processed all the waste from the demolition of the nearby Terminal Two at London's Heathrow airport.
