Spanish contract

Hanson hispania is using the Lokotrack fleet of local contractor Transportes y Excavaciones Mar Menor to boost production at its El Cabezo limestone quarry, in the Murcia region.

Transportes y Excavaciones Mar Menor's contract crushing at the quarry uses a Lokotrack LT1213S impactor plant and two Lokotrack ST352 mobile screens.

A Komatsu PC290LC excavator feeds the LT1213S, which is equipped with a detachable screen and a return conveyor, with limestone 0 to 400 mm in size.

The crushed materials are screened by the two ST352 mobile screens, both equipped with two-deck screens that allow the production of five end products including 0 to 2, 0 to 4, 4 to 8, 8 to 12, and 12 to 20 mm. Depending on the end product sizes selected, the capacity can reach up to 220 tonnes/hour, with Mar Menor operating the Lokotrack fleet 11 hours a day.

Thanks to the IC500 intelligent control system of the LT1213S and the mobile screens' SmartScreen technology labour costs are kept to a minimum – just three men per shift. During operation the LT1213S and ST352 are connected with an interlocking cable, which constantly measures the load on the screens, and automatically adjusts the LT1213S's feed.
