House Speaker Paul Ryan and Congressman David Valadao recently toured the MEC Aerial Work Platform facility in Kerman, CA. The pair were on-hand to learn more about MEC as an example of the positive impacts of the tax reform on manufacturing in the Central Valley.
“MEC has benefited greatly from the tax reform legislation that is helping our economy and bolstering new construction,” the company said in a statement. “These factors have had a direct effect on the record growth MEC is experiencing.”
Addressing MEC’s 139 employees, Speaker Ryan stated, “When we were working on tax reform, we were working on making sure that we could revive American manufacturing. Because, if you don’t have a strong manufacturing sector in your economy, you can’t have a strong country.”
To this, Rep. Valadao said, Wwe always hear about agriculture, but [we have] the opportunity to expand and diversify so there’s more opportunities for people to work.”
MEC President David White also commented on the impact of the tax reform on the business.
“Speaker Ryan and Congressman Valadao’s visit gave our employees the opportunity to meet those representing them in our government,” White said. “Our employees were able to hear from them about the commitment to US business growth and job creation through comprehensive tax reform. Speaker Ryan expressed appreciation for companies like MEC which continue to grow through innovation in the U.S. market and create job opportunities in the Central Valley. That makes all of us at MEC feel good about the jobs we are doing.”
