Special landmark for Mustang skid-steers

Manitou Americas is celebrating 50 years of the Mustang brand of skid-steer loaders.

The first products were launched in the USA by the Owatonna Manufacturing Company in 1965, starting with the Series 1000. The company subsequently became part of Manitou Americas.

Half a century on, the Mustang range comprises eight radial-lift and three vertical-lift models, including the 4000V which Manitou said is the world’s most powerful skid-steer loader.

“The Mustang brand is built on a foundation of designing and producing powerful, easy to use skid-steers,” said Dan Miller, CEO of Manitou Americas and president of the Manitou Group CEP-Compact Equipment Division.

“Our task for the future is to incorporate new features and technology, yet still maintain the durability and integrity our customers have come to expect from the brand.”

Marketing director Lori Heidecker added: “We are very proud of our 50 years of experience in designing and manufacturing the Mustang skid-steer loader.”

“It’s known by its dealers and customers to be one of the most durable, reliable, and innovative in the market today.”

Mustang skid-steers are used by customers in the rental, agriculture, construction and landscape markets.
