Haulotte has reported a good start to its 2016 financial year with sales of €115 million in the first quarter, an increase of 17% from €98.2 million in the same period in 2015.

Equipment sales were up 19% overall, with Europe up 30% and North America up 35%, which the company said, maintains the trend seen in 2015. Equipment sales in the Asia-Pacific area were down 19% due to the slowdown in the Middle East, while Latin America saw a 6% fall following the continued economic pressures in Brazil.

Services and rental activities also grew by 5% and 7%, respectively, compared to the first quarter of 2015.

Looking ahead the Haulotte Group said first quarter activity meant its expectations of 5% sales growth for 2016 could be confirmed.
