Sunbelt Rentals in the UK is to open a new flagship facility for its film and TV business, the company has announced.

The 180,000sqft facility is based in Wembley, just outside of central London.

Once opened, it will be the biggest in operation from the company and will provide everything from cameras and cranes, to site lighting and access equipment to London and the South East.

It will also offer its wider range of equipment, including its specialist power, HVAC and external training services.

Sunbelt said it will be “the epicentre” for its range of sustainable net-zero and low-carbon equipment solutions and will feature clean energy and sustainable location services.

It added that the facility will ensure customers receive “everything they need with unmatched efficiency and sustainability at the core of their offering.”

Mike Pollard, managing director of Film & TV, Sunbelt Rentals, said, “The scale of the new location means we can offer an exceptional customer experience. Along with the expansive warehouse and range of specialist equipment available, customers can also use our test rooms, viewing theatre, creative hub and meeting rooms for enhanced creative collaboration.”

Phil Parker, Sunbelt Rentals, added, “The West London facility is one of our flagship Film and TV facility. We’re looking forward to welcoming customers new and old to explore the expansive range of equipment available to hire, while also highlighting some of the sustainable design choices that have gone into the new building.

“This facility represents increased local employment opportunities, sustainable practices and an exceptional customer experience, which aligns with Sunbelt Rentals 4.0 strategic growth strategy.”

The film and TV business of Sunbelt in the UK has seen significant growth in recent years through acquisitions and fleet expansion.

In 2022 it acquired specialist TV and film rental company Media Access Solutions, lens and grip rental firm Movietech and Manchester-based lighting specialist PKE Lighting.

In November last year the company also acquired camera and equipment rental business Acorn Film & Video.

In terms of equipment, the company has expanded its fleet to include more crane services and telescopics than before, which it said makes it one of the largest fleets in the UK.
