The waiting is over – Contract of the Year shortlist announced

04 September 2012

After prolonged and detailed deliberation on the part of the judging panel, the shortlist for the 2012 World Demolition Award Contract of the Year can be announced. The sheer number of entries this year, allied to the quality of the work they describe, made this the most difficult challenge the panel has ever encountered in the history of the Awards. In the words of one of the judges: "This year's entries for this category are exceptional, both in terms of numbers and the standard of the expertise and professionalism they display. I have never had such a difficult task in deciding who should appear on the list. As to the final winner, I am going to have to work very hard indeed to reach a decision."

The resulting shortlist is as follows:

Armac
Coleman & Company
Despe srl & De Goyere
Erith Contractors
Ferma Corp
Keltbray
Nikau Contractors
Ward Demolition

Full details of the individual entries will be published in the September-October issue of D&Ri. I would like to emphasise that irrespective of the final outcome of the judging process (there can only be one winner after all), every single company who features should be rightfully proud of that fact. The shortlist is somewhat longer than normal, but simply reflects the quality of the entries we received and the difficulties the judges faced.

I would also like to commiserate with those that did not make this year's shortlist, but as stated above, the competition was fierce.
