Time names eight construction companies to inaugural ‘Most Sustainable’ list

Time – the US-based publishing company – released it’s first-ever list of the “World’s Most Sustainable Companies”, which included eight international construction firms among a ranking of 500.

The table was built alongside data cultivated by Statista.
“The companies at the top of the list have signed on to some of the most respected climate programs, including the 1.5°C target from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), and receive high scores from CDP (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project),” said Time. “Time and Statista further held companies to high standards for their Scope 1 and 2 emissions and energy consumption relative to company size, emissions reductions in 2021 and 2022 (the most recent years fully reported), and proportion of renewable energy used by the company’s operations.”
Stantec of Canada finished highest on the list of construction firms at 13 with a score of 79.63. WSP, also from Canada, just missed the top 50 at 53.
Iberdrola and Acciona, both of Spain, made the top 100.
Ferrovial, Sacry, Webuild, and Eiffage rounded out the eight construction firms on the ladder.
The top spot went to Schneider Electric, a France-based automation and energy management company.
