Spanish tool hire specialist ToolQuick has formed a partnership with home building and renovation materials retailer Terrapilar.

The agreement will see it become the rental point for machinery and small tools for Terrapilar in the southeastern province of Alicante.

Speaking to IRN at the Spanish rental association ASEAMAC’s Forum in Madrid on 26 January, ToolQuick CEO José Luis Aliaga said the move would provide a strong partnership with Terrapilar, a well known brand in the home improvement and construction market, which operates eight outlets, supplying homeowners and businesses.

“This agreement aims to meet the rental needs of customers of the most important shop in the construction materials group [Terrapilar] as well as adding a new point of ToolQuick in the province of Alicante to serve growing demand in the area.”

ToolQuick now has three shops in the province of Alicante. Terrapilar’s strategy includes introducing more ToolQuick rental points in the area, as well as expanding the portfolio of machinery and tools in its offering.

Aliaga confirmed ToolQuick was fielding regular approaches from retailers and construction materials specialists to form partnerships.

“The partnership model works well for us; we carefully consider offers to ensure the parternship will be a good fit,” he told IRN.

In December ToolQuick signed an agreement with bathroom and kitchen retailer Porcelanosa to become the rental partner for its loyalty programme for professional customers in Spain.

Aliaga told IRN that while construction in Spain had experienced headwinds from the pandemic to supply chain delays, the house building and renovation market was performing well, with tourism returning and resulting demand from holiday and second homes.

ToolQuick opens on 1 February at Terrapilar’s flagship store - located at Avenida de las Cortes Valencianas, Torrevieja, Alicante.

It will offer ”the largest range of machinery and tool rental in the area.”
