Tower Safety Week underway
16 November 2016
Tower Safety Week 2016 is underway this week, ending Friday 18 November.
With a focus on ‘working well with towers’, it promotes height safety, develops industry knowledge and skills, and connects with a wide range of tower using industries - from construction and maintenance to facilities management and retail.
Organised by Mobile access tower association PASMA partner organisations are showing their support by spreading the safety message through new infographic content and by hosting their own events during the week.
Carl Evans, PASMA chairman, said, “Tower Safety Week is dedicated to keeping people safe when working at height. It turns the spotlight on towers and provides a unique opportunity to inform and educate both existing and potential users.”
Resources for 2016 include an expanded website, new campaign graphics and the return of old favourites such as the High Tower Challenge and the See a tower, take a selfie! competition, aptly re-named Tower selfie GO! for 2016.
Above all, says PASMA, the event will provide a snapshot of national tower use and thereby help shape future safety led campaigns, training and user guidance.
